New-generation wearable devices are expected to surpass traditional 3C products (e.g. laptops and tablets). Synergy VP, Kevin Wang, pointed out that in the past 16 years, Synergy has been committed to custom not only polymer lithium battery design, but mass production in the BTH market. In recent years, Synergy has been involving into the innovation of wearable device applications, e.g., a variety of batteries with special appearance, including the width of 8 mm rectangular battery. Currently in width it is the narrowest polymer LiB, which has been widely used in health bracelet and BTHs. Also, the special shape and fully-used space "D" size batteries are applied to the smart watches and/or stereo headphones with higher capacity needed.
Kevin said Synergy battery considers ergonomic curves, so that stylish health bracelets can keep their good looks. Small cylindrical rechargeable battery can be used to replace the button battery. Synergy offers a variety of changes in the shape of a lithium battery and, rich choices for client’s product creative design. This has enabled the wearable products to come out with its artistical design.
In addition to changing the shape of cell, Synergy continues to develop new lithium battery material, e.g. cathode material for high-density 4.35V battery designed to enhance the cell capacity by 10%~15%; or the use of Si/C anode with specific capacity of >400 mAh/g. High-voltage electrolyte also should be addressed to increase the energy density of Li-ion batteries
